If you sometimes think that the pool feels cold, never fear! Hydrotherapy pools across the country run at temperatures between 30°C and 36°C, and the recommended ideal temperature for a hydrotherapy pool is 34°C.
St George's Community Hydrotherapy Pool is usually heated at the higher end of this scale, and the pool remains open providing our waters are between 32°C and 36°C. Within these temperatures, St George's is warmer than a swimming pool and provides an ideal environment in which to exercise and rehabilitate. Though the difference of temperatures within this scale is noticeable, we guarantee that the pool is at least 32°C for you when we are open.
For comparison, a general swimming pool is never normally warmer than 29°C.
